We are looking to go out to the coast over labor day weekend. We where looking at hotels today and it looks like there are still a couple of deals that we could get. They are not going to be the best hotels in the world but they are going to be close to the beach and we will be able to kick back and relax a little. There are a couple of hotels that are still at $100 a night. The Red Lion Inn in Astoria is just a little over a $100 a night but they want a deposit before they will book the room and I cant pay a deposit until at least this coming friday.

Thursday, 13 August 2009 17:32

It has been years since I have heard about a Kmart Bluelight special. I remember being a little kid and shopping in Kmart with me Mom and having someone come on the intercom and tell you that they were having a blue light special on isle 3 in house wares and that you could get something for 20% to 50% off. I used to love watching the blue lights turn on, on top of the isles. It was always a neat experience.

They are not going to be bringing the Blue Light Special back for all time but they will be doing it on the 15th of August that’s this coming Saturday, from what I have been able to find out its going to be on patio furniture, grills and jewelry all at bluelight special prices. Plus they will be having specials on Kmart.com as well.

if you follow Kmart on Twitter you will be able to see all the different items. Here is a short list:

* Kids Backpacks (Athletech, Route 66 and Licensed) reg. $19.99 – Bluelight $8!
* American Fare Vita-Water 2 for $1
* All Patio Furniture 70% off! (+ an extra 20% off during bluelight!)
* 70 count Notebooks – Buy 2 Get 1 Free
* Diamond Jewelry extra 10% (Diamonds are already 70% off this week!)

Loveline - Adam vs. Anderson PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Thursday, 13 August 2009 17:31
I'm listening to the August 10th episode of Loveline, I have heard that Adam and Anderson really get into a big fight over Bald Bryan. The show has DAG on as a guest and so far nothing has happened. From what I heard one the forums DAG ends up leaving half way through the show since it just gets to uncomfortable in the studio. And then towards the end of the show Dr. Bruce who is filling in for Dr. Drew ends up giving them a lecture on how to act like adults. If you want to skip the beginning of the show I guess right about 20 minutes into the show is when it starts.

I love watching tv when I can find a program that really brings the subject matter to life. I have heard online that they say it’s the the truTV effect. Most of the shows that do this are on the truTV network. I love to watch there shows they make me feel really kind of weird some times. They even have truTV video that you can share with your friends if you watch something that you truly have a reaction to. Once you start watching this channel you will never want to watch anything else again.

You have to really kind of make sure you have a cast iron stomach for some of there shows they are so real that they have made me physically ill sometimes with the images that they have shown. I really like the forensic shows but I have to close my eyes well watching it sometimes.  They have other shows that are just amusing since they have to fuzz out people’s butts and other parts.  They have some shows like wildest police chases and man vs cartoon.

So if you are looking for something different that is not  fake reality tv check out truTV for the real action.

It has been a little bit of a crazy week since I posted last. I have been hanging out with my parents as well as other family members that came to town. The beer festival was great. Plus work has been keeping me busy. I ended up doing a bunch of work on and around the house. We cleaned and then cleaned some more. It has just been busy. I need a vacation. I have two days off this week but with people in from out of town that is going to keep me busy. On the bright side I will be going to breakfast with my Mom on thursday so that should be nice and relaxing.

Sears is having a CampusReady sale. You can shop for all your dorm room needs. They have anything that you would want for campus living they even have tips from Ty Pennington on the sit on how best to get everything to fit into your living space. They even have CampusReady on Facebook, if you want to share thoughts and ideas with your friends.

The best part of this Sears site is that you can Shop by dorm room, the site also lets you coordinate dorm room products with design ideas, there is also a built in checklist. In addition they also have some financial planning tips, so you don’t go over budget. In looking closely at the site I also noticed that they have a link to apparel since most kids are going to be heading off to a different climate. I know I did that, I graduated from High School and moved to Arizona so I had to replace my whole wardrobe.

Since College tuition keeps rising Sears is going to be giving away $25,000 in college tuition to a luck winner with Upromise!

Upromise members are automatically entered with a sears.com purchase through Upromise.com, or enter free at sears.com/campusready. See sears.com/campusready

Vegan Food - Diet PDF Print E-mail

Tuesday, 04 August 2009 16:46

We had vegan enchiladas last night. I think they were really good. We followed the recipe this time and we were talking after dinner was over and we all agreed that we need to change it up a little in order to fit our tastes a little better. We were thinking we should add a little white onion and olives since the recipe just had spinach and mushrooms and hash browns. Those are all really good things but the flavor was just a little lacking the enchilada sauce was really good and over all I would give them a three and one half stars but I think we could make this a five star meal if we just changed it up a little.

Eye Cream Reviews PDF Print E-mail

My Fiancée has been reading a bunch of Eye Cream Reviews. She is looking to find a product that she feels will be able to slow or halt the aging process around her eyes. She has been looking into getting a couple of samples for a few products that she likes. But with all the new stuff coming on the market it is hard to keep up with what is out there. I think she reads one or two articles a week on a new product that has hit the market. She was reading on eyecream.com about some of the ingredients you need to look for in your eye cream like “Retinol A” since that is one of the active ingredients that will help slow the aging process.

Engine 2 Diet PDF Print E-mail

Monday, 03 August 2009 16:00

My Fiancée and I are going to be doing the “Engine 2 Diet” we basically started last Friday. We have been trying some different recipes from the book. We are going to be having Vegan Enchiladas tonight. It has mushrooms and spinach and the weird part is that they are not rolled you make this dish more like a Lasagna in that you layer all the ingredients. Since we are trying to do the healthy thing I made the enchilada sauce from scratch on Sunday and instead of using chicken broth I made a vegetable broth. When I was done it smelled really good. I was a little bummed that I did not have anything to pour the sauce over in order to try it right then and there.

babies cord blood PDF Print E-mail

We have been talking about having our first baby, I’m kind of looking forward to it and I have been reading up online and I keep seeing the name Cryo-Cell pop up on some of the forums. I guess the big new thing is to store some of the cord blood from when you have a baby and then freeze it so in case you need to have stem cells later on in life you would be able to use them from this frozen blood. I guess there are over 75 diseases that you can fight with this blood.

Cryo-Cell is having a promotion they are one of the leading companies that specialize storing cord blood. They have a promotion right now where it only cost $995 for processing, testing and first year of storage plus the cancellation fee is waived. This is for the "Protect Baby, Protect Mom" plans that they offer you can use promotion code 995PS by midnight Sunday, July 26th to get the special pricing.

Overall I think this is a great idea, I need to do a little more research and see if it is better to do this if you have chronic diseases that run in the family or if it is just something that everyone should be doing these days.

Shopping and the Heat PDF Print E-mail

Tuesday, 28 July 2009 20:37
The last couple of days have just been a killer the heat has been up in the hundreds. We have been trying to go somewhere at night until the sun goes down in order to be cool. We have a window A/C unit and it helps keep the house in the mid seventies but it does not keep the house cold. Last night we went out to dinner at a good Chinese restaurant that we will be going back to in a couple of weeks since it was so good. And tonight it looks like we will be going over to Home Goods and then to Ikea to enjoy their A/C for a couple of hours.
