Twilight - New Moon - Movie PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator

A bunch of people that I work with went to go and watch "New Moon" last night. We did not end up getting tickets before the theater was sold out for the whole day. I think it would have been fun to go with a bunch of people except for the fact that everyone would be talking during the movie or laughing or something. I read the books so I know what should happen during the movie so it would have been fun to see everything brought to life. I guess we can go later this week or maybe over Thanksgiving and watch it.

evolution of the Internet PDF Print E-mail

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of LeapFish Inc. All opinions are 100% mine.

It’s amazing how the internet has changed since I first started using it back in the day. You had to connect to a BBS (Bulletin Board System) in order to see if you had any messages. You could play games back then but they were all text based choose you own adventure kind of games. Also nothing had pictures everything was text. Could you imagine that, with ever webpage in the world having pictures? Take leapfish
there page is full of pictures and video you can I never had video, even AOL did not have video when they first started. I was so excited the first time I connected to CompuServe even thou all of their images where loaded from the disks you had to use. Now with Facebook you can get video images and a ton of other information in no time.

So check out this video that explains how the internet has changed over time and if you would like check out Leapfish they have a lot of really good information about how the internet has evolved you can even follow them on Twitter and Facebook, two services that no would have imagined back in the day when the internet was first getting started. I wonder what will be on the web in the next five years I’m sure it will all have changed again.

I think I have said this before, but I might need to say it agian. If you are going to be vegitarian or vegan, you really cant drink. I had some beverages last night and this whole day has been one long headache. I'm going to have to stick with the non-alcholic beer if I want to feel like I have been drinking. I dont want to have to experiance this agian. It might just be the beer that does it. I had wine a couple of weeks ago and I woke up the next day feeling fine.

I have been watching "Wolverine and the X-men" via netflix for the last couple of weeks. I have to say I really like the show. Its a little different than what I had expected. Its a good show. I just wish that they had more than just a couple of Episodes. I need to do some research to see how many more episodes are going to be coming out or if its a limited series. If you like the X-men comics I would suggest watching this series.

Crazy Week PDF Print E-mail

It has been a strange week, I'm happy that its the weekend. Its a bummer that summer is over though. We are waiting for the last couple of tomatos to ripen on the vine. We had one of them this morning and they are not that bad. I dont know what we are going to do with the green ones that we have. It seems that they are still growing but if it freezes any time soon they will be ruined and then we will jusst have to throw them away. I suppose we could fry them up but that has never been something that I have liked.

I'm really loving my Kindle!! I purchased another book from Amazon today, in addition to the book that I purchased I was able to download a couple of books that are free. They are the full book. I think they are trying to suck me into purchasing more stuff! Since the free books that I downloaded from them are all the first books in these big long series. :) I suppose its ok since I read more than I watch tv and if you have a good series to read what else do you really need?

Great - LG Contest PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Saturday, 19 September 2009 19:04

I came across an interesting contest for a new LG Bliss phone - you can learn more about it by visiting the LG Bliss Facebook Fan Page. The contest is actually kind of neat - you upload a picture or video of what you find ugly and would like to lose. If you look at the “Gallery of the Utterly Ugly,” you will see what I’m talking about; they have trashy trends, outdated electronics (do you really need that Atari 64?) and other stuff that people consider "ugly." You can submit photos to the gallery and the rest of the contest rules are pretty basic. The only things you cannot post are as follows:

Ugly behavior, such as violence, indecency, or illegal activities aren’t tolerated. Photos of people are not allowed.

Other than that, you are allowed to upload any picture you would like. You can only upload one picture per face book account so you better make sure you are uploading the ugliest thing that you can find. At the bottom of this post I will put all the official contest info, so get looking for the UGLY that you would rather live without!!

<<CONTEST INFO>>
- Contest runs from 9/11/09 to 11/6/09.

- Users can upload an image or video of anything they consider ugly and want to lose.

- They will be entered to win a brand new LG Bliss phone. The grand prize is the new LG Bliss phone and the secondary prize is a $50 gift card so you can buy your own bliss. There will be five grand prize winners and fifty secondary winners
They need to be 18 years or older.

- One (1) entry per Facebook account.

Kindle 2 - Amazon PDF Print E-mail

I won a Kindle through work and I have to say that I love it. I think it’s great! The screen is about the size of the print area of a paperback book and the weight is less than a 300 hundred page paperback. The interface takes a little getting used to but I did not have any problems at all. I have made it almost all the way through one book and the page turning works really well and I don’t even really notice when it changes pages now.

I would really suggest that if you read a lot and would like to have a bunch of books on hand that you pick one of these babies up.

Rehab - On truTV PDF Print E-mail

There is a new show called Rehab it takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas Nevada. truTV's Rehab is one wild and crazy party, since the parties that take place in Vegas are like nothing else in the world you can have some crazy “party fouls”, I could not even begin to imagine the things that would happen at a poolside party in Vegas. I want to see this show to be able to see some of the crazy things that people are doing. I don’t know if I would be able to party at Rehab since I don’t know if I would be able to let myself go like some of the people there. I was looking at the website and I just can’t get over what the girls look like. If I was not already interested in seeing what the people are doing I would watch this show just to be able to see the girls.

I'm joining the sweepstakes truTV is running so I can have a chance to party like a rock star at Rehab at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel & Casino pool. You can enter as well by clicking on the following link: Enter to win

Keep Portland Weird PDF Print E-mail

I have been wanting to post this video, we had some people in from out of town so we took them to the First Thursday Gallery walk down in the Pearl. And there was a band playing and they were kind of a Russian Gypsy kind of band. And they started playing this song with the lyrics of Osama Bin Laden, and then out of nowhere we get this guy that kind of looks like Andy Warhol jumping out and dancing. I have to say those bumper stickers about keeping Portland Weird must be working. So for your viewing pleasure Osama Bin Laden and Andy Warhol:

web hosting geeks PDF Print E-mail

I was checking out the blog at webhostinggeeks.com to see what they would suggest for a dedicated server since I'm going to need to be changing to one sometime here in the near future. I have had a few interactions with my current hosting provider. The last one was about the number of processes I had running. It was not really my fault since someone was scanning my site and I have some Amazon stories set up that are all php based and they needed to run processes for each page that was being scanned. So to make a long story short they ended up turning off my account.

Due to this interaction I have been contemplating changing to a dedicated hosting provider. Not only would it get ride of the issue of having to many processes running at one time but it would also allow me to run some scripts that I’m not able to load at this time since the server does not proved the necessary databases.

I’m thinking I would go with ultrahosting.com since they are more in line with my budget and they have some nice machines. I don’t have anything that really is going to need some power behind it so there a perfect match they are running a Core2 Duo 1.8 with 1 GB of RAM and you get 80 GB of hard drive space that is more than enough for my website.
